| Penerangan CU | Offset printing machine maintenance system control is the competency which provides method or technique in implementing maintenance system control, in order to improve machine performance and maintain printing production availability meet to operation requirement. There are two type of offset printing which is sheet fed and web fed; Sheet fed printing refers to the use of paper (substrate) supplied to the printing press. Sheet fed printing is generally used for runs in excess of fifteen to twenty five thousand sheets per hour i.e. magazines, packaging product, catalogues and books. Web fed printing refers to the use of newsprints or rolls. Web fed printing is generally used for runs in excess of forty to eighty thousand copies per hour i.e. newspapers, magazines, catalogues and books. The person who is competent in Offset maintenance system control shall be able organise maintenance activities safely, system control maintenance activity, machine thru-put setting and produce maintenance solution according to maintenance schedule, machine manual and company’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). . The outcome of this competency is to enable/achieve successful process of maintenance system control system with sufficient work listed in maintenance plan as required in printing industry It’s also to ensure of work effectively and safe area in accordance with Local Authority Agencies regulation |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in offset machine maintenance system control shall be able to plan its equipment for servicing and testing to ensure its equipment capabilities of machine operation in accordance with printing organization policy and regulation. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Plan mechanical printing machine maintenance requirements • Maintain mechanical printing machine maintenance serviceability • Perform mechanical printing (sheet fed) machine maintenance settings verification • Perform mechanical printing (web) machine maintenance settings verification • Perform mechanical printing machine auxiliary setting verification • Produce mechanical printing machine maintenance report |
