| Penerangan CU | ARFF incident & accident management is the activity to manage the accident and incident rescue operation of the aircraft, structure and casualty handling within responsibility of ARFF fire station. Incident can refer to any event – big or small, good or bad, intentional or unintentional. As an Initial On Scene Commander (OSC), he performs incident command duties at scene, manage fire/rescue/medical resources, direct fire operations, conduct necessary rescue operations, and determine the need to evacuate the area. It is his responsibility also to establish a safe assembly area for the non-injured passengers during the initial stages of an aircraft accident and alert emergency response personnel to the presence of hazards at the scene. A person who is competent in this CU shall be able to respond to incident & accident notification, analyse incident & accident situation, command ARFF operation, advise termination of incident & accident operation, declare airport level of protection by ARFF operation back to normal and prepare incident & accident report. The outcome of this competency is to ensure the ARFF incident & accident operation is successfully managed in accordance with Standard And Recommended Practices (SARPs) of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). |

Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Respond to incident & accident notification • Analyse incident & accident situation • Command ARFF operation • Advise termination of incident & accident operation • Declare airport level of protection by ARFF operation back to normal • Prepare incident & accident report |
