| Penerangan CU | Bulk & Break Bulk Cargo Loading & Unloading Supervision describes the competency of unloading/loading of bulk cargo on ship. The term bulk relates to trades where dry cargoes such as iron ore, grain, coal, Alumina and phosphates are carried out in loose form i.e the cargo is not packed, loaded or unloaded directly in the holds of the ship. The ships that carry these bulk cargoes are known as bulk carriers, ore carriers or Bulkers. The personnel who aspires to be competent in this competency must in prior have the following competencies in preparing pre arrival requirement, tools and equipment preparation, perform manpower arrangement, assist berthing activity, perform work sequence planning, coordinating works, housekeeping activity and shall be able to produce report in accordance to SOP and port authority requirement. To perform the CU, the personnel is required to have knowledge and skills in bulk cargo operation and physical fit to perform works. The outcome of this competency is to ensure that stevedores equipped with knowledge and skills to carry out bulk cargo operation handling using designated tools and equipment. |
