It includes operation like start up, excitation control, synchronization, loading unit under specified conditions, normal shutdown, emergency shutdown etc. The mode of control may be manual or automatic and may be controlled locally or from remote location. Small Hydro Plant Start Up and Shut Down Operation describes the competency required to oversee and execute start up and shut down operation of small hydro plant. A competent person in this CU shall be able to carry out plant start up and shut down operation preparation, carry out main inlet valve opening, carry out turbine start up procedure, carry out excitation system start up procedure, carry out synchronization, carry out generator loading procedure, monitor small hydro operations and carry out small hydro plant shutdown The outcome of this competency is to ensure efficient operation of small hydro plant start up and shut down that meet the power generation requirement, guidelines and company Standard Operating Procedure. |
