When switchgear malfunctions, the consequences are often catastrophic. Damage to the switchgear itself can be extremely expensive, but that pales in comparison to corollary damage and the potential hazards to people. Small Hydro Plant Switch Gear Maintenance describes the competency required to oversee and execute the maintenance of switchgear at small hydro plant. A competent person in this CU shall be able to carry out small hydro plant switch gear maintenance activities preparation, carry out switch gear condition monitoring (online), carry out switch gear maintenance (offline) and carry out work place house-keeping. The outcome of this competency is to ensure efficient operation of small hydro plant that meet the power generation requirement, guidelines and company Standard Operating Procedure. |
