| Penerangan CU | A core network, or network core, is the central part of a telecommunications network that provides various services to customers who are connected by the access network. Core Network Equipment Maintenance describes the competency in assisting engineer in installation process, conducting Core Network equipment preventive and corrective maintenance works. Core Network equipment includes switches, router, E-NodeB, Mobility Management Entity (MME), Serving Gateway (S-GW), Packet Data Network Gateway (P-GW), Home Subscriber Server (HSS) and Base Station Controller (BSC). There is limitation to perform this CU. Apprentice only can assist engineer to carry out all the task because of the constringency in Core Network maintenance requirements which include accessibility, security and confidentiality procedure. A competent person in this CU shall be able to assist engineer in installation process, assist engineer in review maintenance requirement, assist engineer in prepare maintenance materials, tools and equipment, assist engineer in inspect site condition, assist engineer in execute maintenance activities and assist engineer in produce maintenance report in accordance with organisation’s standard & practices / policy requirements and authorities rules & regulations. The outcome of this competency is to produce excellent Core Network equipment maintenance and facilities support workers. So that he / she can provide high quality works to ensure customer satisfaction guaranteed, prompt actions taken in accordance with authority’s bodies / organisation’s policies, rules and regulations. The pre-requisite to perform this task, apprentice need to complete and fulfilled Competency Unit (CU) Access Network Equipment Maintenance and Transmission Network Equipment Maintenance. |

Upon completion of this competency units, trainees will be able to:- • Review core network maintenance requirement • Prepare maintenance materials, tools and equipment • Inspect core network site condition • Execute core network maintenance • Produce core network maintenance report |
