| Penerangan CU | The mould is basically an open ended box structure, containing a water cooled inner lining fabricated from a high purity copper alloy. The plating which consists of coating the inside wall of the mould, is for extending the life of copper moulds. The mould must be resistant to thermal erosion and distortion. The mould quality, especially its wear resistance and service life of contacting surfaces, determines the efficiency and shutdown times of continuous casting machine. The mould life time depends on mould condition and number of heats casted. Caster Mould Servicing describes the competency in handling mould servicing activities according to operational requirements and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to prepare caster mould servicing requirements, perform caster mould servicing, test caster mould performance and generate caster mould servicing report. The outcome of this competency is the ability to maintain the mould as to ensure a safe and reliable functioning condition in accordance with operational requirements. |
