This competency unit describes the skills in operating reheating furnace according to Standard Operating Procedure and work instructions. A competent person in this CU shall be able to identify reheating furnace operation requirements, set furnace temperature, perform input materials handling, carry out input materials charging, carry out materials discharging, monitor discharge materials temperature, record steel reheating furnace activities, and carry out furnace maintenance. The outcome of this competency is the ability to operate reheating furnace in accordance with product specifications, Standard Operating Procedure and customer requirements. |
