| Penerangan CU | Apparel Shrinkage Testing describes the competencies required to perform fabric shrinkage testing and to detect defect/defectives occurred during the washing process. The common defects related to fabric shrinking testing are out of specification (OOS) in measurement as well as defects on fabrics texture and colour. The objective is to ensure fabric used for apparel production passed the shrinkage quality requirement as per specification and met quality standard requirements. The person who is competent in this competency unit (CU) shall be able to comprehend shrinkage process, iron setting/parameters, type of defects, root cause of defects, quality standards requirements, regulatory and authority bodies requirements, Standard Operating Procedure and company policies. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to check fabric shrinkage testing requirements, prepare tools, equipment and materials, prepare sample for shrinkage testing and perform fabric shrinkage test. The outcome of this competency is to confirm the fabric to make the apparel is washable and its original size maintained in length and width size according to apparel specification and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). |
