| Penerangan CU | Apparel materials refer to apparel fabric, trim and accessories. Trims and accessories are used to give style and better finishing appearance for the apparel. Trims include lace, twill tape, reflective tape, ribbon bow and shoulder pad. Examples of accessories are zipper, draw cord, labels, buttons, eyelet, thread and elastic band. The assistant merchandising personnel is responsible for preparing the apparel fabric, trim and accessories for buyer’s approval. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to determine apparel material requirements, follow up on obtaining actual or closest colour fabric for embellishment, follow up on obtaining trim and accessories for quality and colour approval, arrange apparel material for submission to buyer for feedback and to coordinate any required changes to the apparel materials until buyer’s approval is obtained. The outcome of this competency is to ensure apparel materials comply with buyer’s requirements. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to prepare apparel materials for sample and apparel making. The outcome of this competency is to ensure apparel materials comply with buyer’s requirements and are delivered according to schedule. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- Determine apparel material requirements Follow up on obtaining actual or closest colour fabric Follow up on obtaining trim and accessories for quality and colour approval Arrange apparel materials for submission to buyer for feedback Coordinate apparel materials changes based on buyer’s feedback |
