Penerangan CU | Plastics injection mould design consists of converting the sketches into 3D design models. The use of computer-aided design software in 3D design modelling allows plastics injection mould designers to create, generate, design and simulate the plastics injection mould on-screen with a greater level of flexibility. Designers are able to quickly create, generate, modify and use the models to produce parts and components drawings. Plastics injection mould parts and components drawings produced are verified and approved for fabrication. A competent person in this Competency Unit (CU) shall be able to perform product analysis, identify types of mould construction, perform mould flow analysis, perform mould movements simulation, perform drafting and prepare the Design for Manufacture (DFM) report. The outcome of this competency is to produce 3D design detailed drawings for fabrication of the plastics injection mould. To perform the tasks in this CU, the competent person is required to be literate in mould-making operations andmachining fundamentals |

Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to develop plastics injection mould design which consists of interpreting the sketches into 3D design model, the use of computer-aided design software in 3D design modelling allows plastics injection mould designers to create, generate, design and simulate the plastics injection mould on-screen at a greater level of flexibility. The designers are able to quickly create, generate, modify and use the models to produce 2D parts and component drawings as well as plastics injection mould parts and components drawings which are verified and approved for fabrication. Upon completion of this competency units, trainees will be able to:- 1. Perform plastics products analysis. 2. Perform plastics injection mould design concept. 3. Perform 3D injection mould modelling construction. 4. Perform plastics injection mould movement’s simulation. 5. Prepare plastics injection mould engineering drawing. |
