| Penerangan CU | Penetration Testing describes the competency required to be able to assess identified networks, systems and applications to find security vulnerabilities in line with industry best practices. Penetration testing is defined as the process of attempting to breach part or all of a system’s security in a manner commonly used by “hackers” in order to identify and document vulnerabilities so that they can be rectified. He or She is the person to carry out penetration testing activities on identified networks, systems and applications. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to define the scope of penetration testing, perform reconnaissance and information gathering, conduct penetration test, and produce a report on the outcome of penetration testing activities. The outcome of this competency is to ensure penetration testing activities are carried out completely in accordance with organisational requirements, industry best-practices and standard operating procedures. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | LEARNING OUTCOMES The outcome of this competency unit is to perform penetration testing to assess identified networks, systems and applications to find security vulnerabilities in line with industry best practices. Personnel will be able to apply both technical techniques and security best practices to conduct a penetration test, document vulnerabilities and produce comprehensive reports with recommended solutions. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to: - 1. Define the scope of penetration testing 2. Perform reconnaissance and information gathering 3. Conduct penetration test 4. Produce a report on the outcome of penetration testing activities |
