| Penerangan CU | Intrusion Detection & Monitoring describes the competency required to be able to monitor activities on IT systems and services in an organisation with a view to timely detecting and reporting security breaches so as to support activities to better protect the environment. The skills gained support activities surrounding systems and services including securing environments and validating security mechanisms. He or She is the person to carry out intrusion detection & monitoring on identified services and systems using suitable tools and methodologies. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to classify the nature and mechanisms of cyber attacks against the organisation, implement intrusion detection systems (IDS), maintain system health, and analyse logs, packet and sessions. The outcome of this competency is to ensure intrusion detection & monitoring activities are carried out completely in accordance with organisational requirements and standard operating procedures. |

Personnel will be able to apply both technical techniques and industry best practices to carry out intrusion detection & monitoring on identified services and systems using suitable tools and methodologies.
