| Penerangan CU | Highway surveillance describes the competency in observing all listed subject or activities occurring or any sign to occur in the given highway surveillance area, and take necessary action as specified to achieved the determined objectives. This function is important to provide an early awareness on the existence of substance or factors that may disturb or affect the safety of the highway users, employees and or assets. This competency unit is important to ensure that the highway is in safe condition and comfortable for user at all times. A competent person in this competency unit shall be able to perform patrolling looping, report land trespassing, handle animal trespassing, perform contractor work rules compliance inspection, and perform prohibited activities handling. The outcome of this competency unit is to record the continuous drop in accident rate, reduce number of negative user feedback on highway facilities and increase in the highway user’s satisfaction index in accordance with organizational requirement. In performing highway surveillance activities, the patrolman must possess a valid car driving licence and motorcycle licence due to the nature of this activity that utilizes vehicle in completing the task. |
