| Penerangan CU | Biohazard & medical waste collection describes the competency in the collection of biohazard & medical waste from unit to unit according to collection schedule. Healthcare porters fill yellow bags with the waste which will then be transferred to the collection wheel bin. The process will be repeated until all the waste has been collected and transported to the designated central storage site. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify biohazard & medical waste collection activity requirements, prepare collection wheel bin & consumable, perform waste collection in the bag, perform sharp bin collection, transfer collected waste to storage area and perform collection wheel bin cleaning and sanitation activities The outcome of this competency is to successfully collect biohazard & medical waste in a safe manner thus reducing the hazard risk to human health in accordance with Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005 |
