Penerangan CUThis competency unit describes the skills, knowledge and attitude requirements in procurement and materials management .The role of procurement and materials manager is to manage Procurement and materials function in order to achieve organizational objectives.
The person who is competent in procurement and materials management will be able to analyze procurement and materials management concept and requirement, plan procurement and materials management, perform procurement and materials management, evaluate procurement and materials management performance and prepare procurement and materials management periodical report.
An effective SME Procurement and Materials Management Manager should be able to achieve the assigned procurement and materials management objectives, timely furnish tools, equipments and materials at the specified quality and quantity using the most economical cost efficiency, keep updated data base of active suppliers and practice inventory management in order to fulfil the targeted firm operational cost effectiveness in accordance with organizational requirements.
The outcome of this CU is to meet occupational skills standard which incorporate the skills, knowledge and attitude to be delivered systematically.
