| Penerangan CU | Patra Pinda Swedanam treatment is a procedure in which after doing Ayurvedic oil application, herbal bundles are applied in a specific manner for whole body or specific part of the body for a prescribed period of time. Shastika Sali Swedanam treatment is a procedure in which after doing Ayurvedic oil application, rice bundles are applied in a specific manner for whole body or specific part of the body for a prescribed period of time. The types of Ayurvedic sneha swedanam (oleation & fomentation) treatments covers the following procedures:- • patra pinda swedanam • shastika sali swedanam This treatment/ procedure is used as a preparatory treatment for panchakarma or as a treatment by itself. This treatment/ procedure is commonly available in Ayurvedic treatment centres and Ayurvedic hospitals. Ayurvedic sneha swedanam (oleation & fomentation) treatments can be performed on clients who have gone through Ayurvedic abhyangam treatments or as directed by the Ayurvedic physician, and following guidelines setup by the Malaysia Ministry of Health. The practice of Ayurvedic sneha swedanam (oleation & fomentation) treatments is permitted to be performed by certified Ayurvedic panchakarma therapists under the direct supervision of an Ayurvedic physician. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in Sneha Swedanam (Oleation & Fomentation) Treatments shall be able to do treatment/ procedure as a preparatory treatment for panchakarma or as a treatment by itself. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- 1 Confirm advise and instruction for sneha swedanam (patra pinda/ shastika sali) treatments from the Ayurvedic physician 2 Prepare herbal combinations for sneha swedanam (patra pinda/ shastika sali) treatments 3 Organise sneha swedanam (patra pinda/ shastika sali) treatment facilities in the treatment room 4 Prepare client for sneha swedanam (patra pinda/ shastika sali) treatment 5 Carry out sneha swedanam (patra pinda/ shastika sali) treatment procedure 6 Carry out after care of the client |
