| Penerangan CU | Sarvanga dhara is a procedure in which medicated oils/ herbal liquid combinations are poured continuously in a prescribed manner onto the whole body for a prescribed period of time. Kashaya dhara is a sarvanga dhara where herbal decoctions are poured continuously on the body in a prescribed manner by using a vessel. Kaya sekam (Pizhichil) is a sarvanga dhara where medicated oils are poured continuously on the body/ particular part of the body in a prescribed manner by using a vessel or by squeezing muslin cloth by hands. Dhanyamla dhara is a procedure where fermented rice paddy is poured continuously on the body in a prescribed manner by using a vessel. The types of Ayurvedic sarvanga dhara treatments covers the following procedures:- • Kashaya dhara • Kaya sekam (Pizhichil) • Dhanyamla dhara This treatment/ procedure is used both as a curative and rejuvenative technique in Ayurveda. This treatment/ procedure is commonly available in Ayurvedic treatment centres and Ayurvedic hospitals. Ayurvedic sarvanga dhara treatment can be performed on clients who have gone through Ayurvedic oil application or as directed by the Ayurvedic physician, and following guidelines setup by the Malaysia Ministry of Health. The practice of Ayurvedic sarvanga dhara treatments is permitted to be performed by certified Ayurvedic panchakarma therapists under the direct supervision of an Ayurvedic physician. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in Sarvanga Dhara (Pouring Of Liquid Over The Body) Treatments shall be able to do treatment/ procedure both as a curative and rejuvenative technique in Ayurveda. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- 1. Confirm advise and instruction for sarvanga dhara treatments from the Ayurvedic physician 2. Prepare herbal combinations for sarvanga dhara treatments 3. Organise sarvanga dhara treatment facilities in the treatment room 4. Prepare client for sarvanga dhara treatment 5. Carry out sarvanga dhara treatment procedure 6. Carry out after care of the client |
