| Penerangan CU | Textile Reactive Dyeing describes the competencies required to perform dyeing using reactive dyes on cellulosic fiber such as cotton and rayon. Reactive dyes contain a reactive group that are capable of reacting chemically with a substrate to from a covalent dye-substrate linkage. Reactive dyes are popular due to their low cost, ease of application, bright shades and good wash fastness. It is important that reactive dyeing is performed under the required process parameters (such as temperature, pH value and duration) to ensure quality dyeing. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to prepare reactive dyeing requirements, perform reactive dyeing and after-treatment processes, and complete reactive dyeing operation. The outcome of this competency is the production of quality dyed fabric in compliance with clients’ requirements. |

Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- 1. Prepare reactive dyeing auxiliary and dyestuff 2. Perform reactive dyeing 3. Perform dyed fabric after treatment 4. Complete reactive dyeing operation |
