| Penerangan CU | Ammunition and Explosive (A&E) Proof Testing describes the activities and processes for A&E in-service proof testing to support the safe, effective and efficient storage of conventional A&E. The proof testing is carried out systematically by evaluating the characteristics and properties the A&E type possesses and measuring how the A&E performs throughout its entire life cycle. This will in turn allow assessment of the safety, reliability and operational effectiveness of the A&E. Only then can safety in storage be properly assessed. The use of proof testing can then be used to extend ‘shelf life’ if appropriate. Shelf life extension if appropriate may provide significant financial savings as there will no longer be a requirement to procure new ammunition. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to perform A&E proof testing preparation, conduct A&E proof testing and prepare A&E proof testing report. The outcome of this CU is A&E are properly proof tested in accordance with A&E Handling SOP and IATG. |
