| Penerangan CU | Composite Product Forming Process (Open Mould)is the process to produce composite products/parts by adding resin to fibres in a single-sided or open mould and cured. Hand lay-up is an open mouldingprocess suitable for making a wide variety of composites products including boats, tanks, bath ware, housings, RV/truck/auto components, architectural products, and many other products whilstspray-up or chopping is an open mould process similar to hand lay-up in its suitability for making boats, tanks, transportation components and tub/shower units in a large variety of shapes and sizes. A chopped laminate has good conformability and is sometimes faster than hand lay-up in moulding complex shapes. In the spray-up process the operator controls thickness and consistency, therefore the process is more operator dependent than hand lay-up. The outcome of this competency is the production/formation ofcomposite product/parts using open mould process as perjob order and standard operating procedure (SOP). The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to comprehend open mould process requirements, Standard Operating Procedure, Company Approval Procedure (CAP), Quality Procedure Manual (QPM), Technical Notification (TN) and Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Acts. The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to check product forming process (open mould) requirements, prepare product forming process (open mould) works requirements,perform hand lay-up/ spray-up process, and product curing process,carry out product inspection, maintain work area after operationand record open mould process outputin accordance with Material Safety Data Sheet and company requirements, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Company Approval Procedure (CAP), Quality Procedure Manual (QPM) and Technical Notification (TN). |
