| Penerangan CU | Sewage tertiary treatment process control describes the competency required to monitor routine inspections of tertiary treatment assets. He/ She has to collect and analyse data on treatment process and infrastructure condition, monitor fault reporting accordingly and carry out basic system adjustments to enhance system performance according to organisational and statutory requirements Tertiary treatment is the process to disinfect and kill harmful organisms that remain in the treated wastewater even after primary and secondary treatment using chlorine-contact tanks which mixes the wastewater with sodium hypochlorite. The treated wastewater, or effluent, is then released into local waterways. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to determine tertiary treatment operating parameters, carry out verification of work order, monitor tertiary treatment process activities, troubleshoot causes of abnormality in the tertiary treatment system, carry out system adjustments and corrective actions for tertiary treatment and update supervisory record. The outcome of this competency is to produce safe effluent/treated wastewater into waterways to protect the health of people who use local beaches and other recreational activities on or those living near the waterways in accordance with treatment plant design acceptance criteria and statutory regulations. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU should be able to monitor routine inspections of tertiary treatment assets, collect and analyse data on treatment process and infrastructure condition, and monitor fault reporting accordingly and carry out basic system adjustments to enhance system performance according to organisational and statutory requirements. The outcome of this competency is to produce safe effluent/treated sewage into waterways to protect the health of people who use local beaches and other recreational activities or those living near the waterways in accordance with sewage treatment plant (STP) design acceptance criteria and statutory regulation. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainee will be able to:- Determine tertiary treatment operating parameters Carry out verification of work order Monitor tertiary treatment process activities Troubleshoot causes of abnormality in the tertiary treatment system Coordinate system adjustment and corrective action for tertiary treatment Update supervisory record |
