| Penerangan CU | This gas bulk cargo operation is the activities in cargo operation involving transfer of cargo in gas form; The gas bulk cargo is Natural Gas, natural gas is hydrocarbons (compound of hydrogen and carbon). Hydrocarbon in gases state is methane and propane. Besides these hydrocarbon, it may also comprise such inorganic compounds as nitrogen and carbon dioxide . This cargo is normally transferred via pipe lines to tankers or shore tanks. The operations of transferring this cargo are classified as critical operations where related parties involved need to comply with safe handling procedures. This gas bulk cargo operation control Is the activities in cargo operation involving transfer of cargo in gas form; The gas bulk cargo is grouped into commodity, petroleum, gas and chemical substances that are transported in large quantities. This cargo is normally transferred via pipe lines to tankers or shore tanks. The operations of transferring this cargo are classified as critical operations where related parties involved need to comply with safe handling procedures. The person who is competent in gas bulk cargo operation control shall be able to identify cargo gas bulk instruction and charter party requirements, carry out ship pre arrival requirements, prepare for loading and discharging gas bulk cargo operations, ensure safety precaution prior & during cargo operations, carry out ship pre arrival/departure requirements, prepare for ship arrival/departure and maintain gas cargo documentations. The outcome of this competency is to manage gas cargo in to enable/achieve successful process with safe operation, free oil-spill incident; gas quantity confirmed and complies with gas safe handling procedures |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in liquefied gas “cargo” operation control is able to conduct successful gas transfer process with safe operation, free unwarranted leakage incident; gas volume confirmed and complies with gas safe handling procedures. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- · Assess gas “cargo” operation requirement · Produce gas “cargo” operation schedule · Organise safety precaution prior & during cargo operations · Coordinate gas “cargo” operation · Control gas “cargo” handling operation |
