| Penerangan CU | SRS is an Object Detection System that utilises Radio Waves in order to determine the Range, Direction, or Speed of objects. It can be used to detect Aircraft, Ships, Vehicles, Weather Formations, Terrain and etc. The Radar Scanner or Antenna Assembly Unit transmits Pulses of Radio Waves or Microwaves which bounce off any object in their path. The object returns a tiny part of the Wave's Energy to a Scanner or Antenna Assembly Unit, which is usually located at the same site as the Transmitter, Receiver or Transceiver Unit . Principally, SRS consists of; Antenna/Scanner Unit, Transmitter, Receiver or Transceiver Unit, Radar Transmitter Cooling Unit (RTCU), Waveguide, Waveguide Air Dryer Unit, Display Console and Power Supply Unit. SRS installation are fixing or semi-fixing of a complete SRS or a self-contained SRS Unit, with its accompanying assemblies, accessories and parts. SRS installation also includes provision of or connection to services (such as power) and other associated equipment required to make the installed SRS ready for operations . SRS can be installed either on Static Platforms (Land-based and Off-shore) and Mobile Platforms. Preventive Maintenance is designed to preserve and restore SRS reliability by replacing worn components before they actually fail. Preventive Maintenance activities include care and servicing for the purpose of maintaining SRS module as well as their associated equipment in satisfactory operating condition by providing for systematic check, detection, and correction of incipient failures either before they occur or before they develop into major defects. Preventive Maintenance include tests, measurements, adjustments, and parts replacement, performed specifically to prevent faults from occurring, oil changes, lubrication and so on at specified periods. In addition, person can record equipment deterioration so they know to replace or repair worn parts before they cause system failure . Persons who are competent in this CU shall be able to install a complete SRS as well as their other associated equipment. He or She shall also be able to carry out Preventive Maintenance on SRS as well as their other associated equipment in accordance with Regulatory Bodies recommendations, OEM’s/Client’s requirements and Contractor’s SOP. The outcomes of this CU is persons that shall be able to provide an excellent and quality installation and Preventive Maintenance of SRS as well as their other associated equipment to ensure prompt actions are taken and client’s satisfaction is guaranteed in accordance with Regulatory Bodies’ recommendations, OEM’s/Client’s requirements and Contractor’s SOP. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | Persons who are competent in this CU shall be able to install fixed or mobile SRS as well as their other associated equipment. He or She shall also be able to carry out preventive maintenance on SRS as well as their other associated equipment. Upon completion of this CU, trainees will be able to:- · Set-up fixed/mobile SRS installation. · Install fixed/mobile SRS Cables. · Install fixed/mobile SRS Power Supply Switches, Breakers and Outlets. · Install fixed/mobile SRS Units Cabinets/Racks/Brackets. · Install fixed/mobile SRS Units. · Perform fixed/mobile SRS Units preventive maintenance. |
