| Penerangan CU | Voice Communication is the transfer of information by voice between two or more points that are not connected by an Electrical Conductor. Voice Communications can be done via; Radio or Microwave Communication . This CU covers High Frequency (HF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), and Very High Frequency (VHF) types of VCS equipment. Principally, VCS consists of; Antenna Unit, Antenna Tuning Unit (ATU), Balance Unbalance (BALUN) Unit, Antenna Line, Transmitter, Receiver or Transceiver Unit and Remote Unit as well as their associated equipment. VCS installation is fixing or semi-fixing of a complete VCS or a self-contained VCS Unit, with its accompanying assemblies, accessories and parts. VCS installation also includes provision of or connection to services (such as power) or other associated equipment required to make the installed VCS ready for operations . VCS can be installed either on Static Platforms (Land-based and Off-shore) and Mobile Platforms. Preventive Maintenance is designed to preserve and restore VCS reliability by replacing worn components before they actually fail. Preventive Maintenance activities include care and servicing for the purpose of maintaining VCS Units as well as their associated equipment in satisfactory operating condition by providing for systematic check, detection, and correction of incipient failures either before they occur or before they develop into major defects. Preventive Maintenance include tests, measurements, adjustments, and parts replacement, performed specifically to prevent faults from occurring, partial or complete overhauls, oil changes, lubrication and so on at specified periods. In addition, persons can record equipment deterioration so they know to replace or repair worn parts before they cause system failure . Persons who are competent in this CU shall be able to install a complete VCS as well as their associated equipment. He or She shall also be able to carry out Preventive Maintenance on VCS Units as well as their associated equipment in accordance with Regulatory Bodies’ recommendations, OEM’s/Client’s requirements and Contractor’s SOP. The outcomes of this CU is persons that shall be able to provide excellent and quality installation and Preventive Maintenance of VCS as well as their other associated equipment to ensure client’s satisfaction guaranteed and prompt actions are taken in accordance with Regulatory Bodies’ recommendations, OEM’s/Client’s requirements and Contractor’s SOP. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | Persons who are competent in this CU shall be able to install a complete VCS as well as their associated equipment. He or She shall also be able to carry out preventive maintenance on VCS Units as well as their associated equipment. Upon completion of this CU, trainees will be able to:- · Set up fixed/mobile VCS installation. · Install fixed/mobile VCS Cables. · Install fixed/mobile VCS Power Supply Switches, Breakers and Outlets. · Install fixed/mobile VCS Units Cabinets/Racks/Brackets. · Install fixed/mobile VCS Units. · Perform fixed/mobile VCS Units preventive maintenance. |
