| Penerangan CU | The CU title describes the competency in Kiln Drying Process Kiln Dry process is an important process in wood based industries especially in industries that required timber with moisture content below than 12%. Applying approved Kiln Drying process will result in high timber quality, increase timber properties and value. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to check Kiln Dry chamber system, perform Kiln Dry chamber loading work. monitor Kiln Dry chamber temperature, monitor chamber relative humidity condition , conduct timber sampling test, perform moisture content test, prepare timber Kiln Drying report, prepare timber kiln drying schedule and prepare preventive maintenance schedule Only authorised personnel with Kiln Drying Competency Certificate (C.O.C) from Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) are allowed to operate Kiln Dry Camber |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to handle kiln dry process wood by using several methods and tests. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Check kiln dry chamber system. • Perform kiln dry chamber loading work. • Monitor kiln dry chamber temperature • Monitor chamber relative humidity condition. • Conduct timber sampling test. • Perform moisture content test • Prepare timber kiln drying report • prepare timber kiln drying schedule • Prepare preventive maintenance schedule |
