| Penerangan CU | The CU title describes the competency in breeding process. He or She is the person who involve in the art and science of changing the genetics of plants in order to produce desired characteristics. It is the act of bringing together two specific parent plants to produce a new “offspring” plant. This “cross” creates a new plant that will contain a mixture of the characteristics of its parents. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify breeding process information, perform sowing activity, line selection and purification process, test cross and Filial1 (F1) evaluation; and report breeding process status The outcome of this competency is to ensure food security by developing new varieties that are higher-yielding, resistant to pests and diseases, drought-resistant or regionally adapted to different environments and growing conditions.
