Penerangan CU3D Game Art Hard Surface Asset Modelling describes the competencies required to produce and develop models of objects that we would encounter in real life as having a hard surface. Examples of such objects are vehicles, furniture, buildings/ structures, tools, appliances and electronic devices. Game artists produce these hard surface assets using 3D software

The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to analyse art direction requirements, conduct research and reference compilation, create mesh block out, detailed 3D mesh and low poly model with UV map and first pass texture, refine textures, optimise hard surface asset and conduct in-game test.

The outcome of this competency is the production and development of realistic or stylized and effective hard surface asset models that fulfill art direction and game requirements.

Objektif PembelajaranThe person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to produce and develop 3D models of objects that have hard surface. Examples of such objects are vehicles, furniture, buildings/ structures, tools, appliances and electronic devices.

Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:-
• Analyse art direction requirements
• Conduct research and reference compilation
• Create 3D asset mesh block out
• Create detailed 3D mesh based on confirmed mesh block out
• Create low poly model with UV map and first pass textures
• Refine textures based on art director’s feedback
• Optimise hard surface asset
• Conduct in-game test
