| Penerangan CU | Mould and Die preparations is a competency units for operational process in setting-up and ensuring the casting mould and dies are ready for casting operations. The preparations must follows all the equipments setting parameters and its safety procedures set by the makers. This will ensures the casting operation is smooth and safe for the operators and producing a desired quality product. (Equipment Die setting standard, Occupational Safety & Health at workplace) The personnel who are competent in Mould and Die preparations activity will be able to perform Mould and Dies servicing, perform Mould and dies pre-heat activities, perform Mould and dies core making preparations and perform sand mould and core fabrications. Knowledge applied can be used in doing small casting process such as making accessory / or precious metal casting industry The outcome of this CU is to meet occupational skills standard which incorporate the skills, knowledge and attitude to be delivered systematically. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to accomplish all assigned tasks, optimizing usage of resources, within a specified time frame in a safe working environment. He disassemble and assemble mould and die according to specific manual requirements, service mould and die, replace flaws wear and tear and rectify to serviceable condition, place and adjust un-serviceable parts correctly, confirm mould and die functional ability and batch identification controlled number, mould and die pre-heat operation executed, check sheet completed, and heating procedures followed to reach the specified heating temperature.Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to : Perform Mould and Die Servicing Perform Mould and dies pre-heat activities Perform Sand Mould / core making activities Perform mould and core fabrications |
