Penerangan CUThe Quality Control Support Service competency unit describes the skills, knowledge and attitude requirements in all quality related support activities to ensure the processes and products reach the desired standard set by the customer and or organization. In-effective Quality Control Support Service will lead to high scrap value, high field service work, high production cost, low product quality, lost in the customers confidence and reduced market share.
The role of Quality Control personnel is to perform material tests, perform product visual inspection, perform non-destructive test, perform destructive tests, perform outgoing product quality assurance and other related activities in foundry operation in accordance with latest foundry operation technology and organisation requirement.
An effective quality control support service operator should be able to assist in materials quality test to ensure all materials received comply with the prescribed specification, assist in conducting non-destructive and destructive test with sufficient sample size and right methodology in complying with the specified requirement and related legislation and assist in performing outgoing product quality assurance to ensure that field service rate and or end user return product below specified limit in accordance with organizational requirements.
The outcome of this CU is to meet occupational skills standard which incorporate the skills, knowledge and attitude to be delivered systematically.
