| Penerangan CU | Smocking describes the competency in the art of gathering fabric into pleats in a variety of ways so that it can stretch. Smocking is commonly used in cuffs, bodices, and necklines in garments where buttons were undesirable. Smocking requires lightweight fabric with a stable weave that gathers well. A competent person in this CU shall be able to identify smocking requirements, sketch smocking design idea, produce smocking product, inspect smocking final product’s quality and perform work area housekeeping and maintenance. The outcome of this competency is to be able to produce a neat and value added products according to latest trend and smocking techniques. To perform the CU, the competency owner is required to have basic sewing skills and interest in creative sewing. |
