| Penerangan CU | Cargo Vessel Operation Signalling describes the competency of hand signalling skills in unloading/loading of cargo on ship. The term signalling relates to the skills of a signal man in using their hands to provide appropriate signals to winchman during unloading/loading of cargoes. The personnel who aspires to be competent in this competency must in prior have the following competencies in participate in tools box discussion, receive instruction from foreman for work sequence, confirm rigging of gears equipment, ensure gangs in working position, ensure health and safety operation, execute work commencement, ensure safe working environment, confirm wharf gang/hatch man release gears from cargo and shall be able to produce report in accordance to SOP and port authority requirement. To perform the CU, the competency owner is required to have knowledge and skills in hand signalling skills in cargo operation and physical fit to perform works. The outcome of this competency is to ensure that stevedores equipped with knowledge and skills to carry out signalling works in cargo operation handling using hands. |
