Transformer is an electromagnetic device that changes the voltage of alternating current electricity. It consists of an induction coil having a primary and secondary winding and a closed iron core. Small Hydro Plant Transformer Maintenance describes the competency required to perform the maintenance of transformers of small hydro plant. A competent person in this CU shall be able to carry out small hydro transformer maintenance activities preparation, carry out transformer condition monitoring (online), carry out transformer maintenance (offline) and carry out work place house-keeping. The outcome of this competency is to ensure efficient operation of transformers system that support the operations of small hydro intake that meet the power generation requirement, guidelines and company Standard Operating Procedure. |
