| Penerangan CU | Refractory is commonly used to line the insides of furnaces / ladles / tundishes. A refractory material is a material that retains its strength at high temperatures and must be able to stand up to thermal stress and undergo physical wear and corrosion that comes from the heat and chemicals in the furnace. Steel Plant Refractory Maintenance describes the competency in handling refractories maintenance activities as to ensure a safe and reliable functioning condition according to operational requirements and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to perform furnace, ladle, slab tundish, billet tundish, Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) & Ladle Furnace (LF) roof center piece refractory maintenance. The outcome of this competency is the ability to maintain the operability, safety and sustainability of furnaces, ladles, and tundishes according to SOP and related regulatory body requirements. |
