Tajuk CUPLASTICS EXTRUSION DIE DESIGN
Penerangan CUPlastics extrusion die design is a competency which includes providing raw stock such as sheet for thermoforming and pellets for injection moulding and other extrusion processing, numerous end-use products are made with extrusion such as film, tubing, and a variety of profiles. It consists of melt flow characteristics of plastics and how the die structure should be set in order to get the desired shape. The die has to be properly designed to have uniform flow and pressure drops in all the legs of the profile. A competent person in this Competency Unit (CU) shall be able to perform product analysis, identify types of die construction, perform melt flow analysis, perform drafting and prepare the Design for Manufacture (DFM) report.
The outcome of this competency is to produce 3D design detailed drawings for fabrication of the plastics extrusion die. To perform the tasks in this CU, the competent person is required to be literate in die making operations and machining fundamentals.

Objektif PembelajaranThe person who is competent in this CU shall be able to develop plastics extrusion die design which consists of providing raw stocks such as sheets for thermoforming and pellets for injection moulding and other extrusion processing, numerous end-use products are made with extrusion such as film, tubing, and a variety of profiles. It consists of melt flow characteristics of plastics and how the die structure should be set in order to get the desired shape and die has to be properly designed to have uniform flow and pressure drops in all the legs of the profile. Upon completion of this competency units, trainees will be able to:-
1. Perform plastics film extrusion die design.
2. Perform profile extrusion die design.
3. Perform sheet extrusion die design.
