| Penerangan CU | Pedestal offshore crane lifting operation describes competency in operating and controlling a crane mechanism where the hook remains at the same level whilst luffing; moving the jib up and down, so as to move the hook inwards and outwards relative to the base. Usually the description is only applied to those with a luffing jib that have some additional mechanism applied to keep the hook level when luffing. An offshore crane is defined as a pedestal-mounted elevating and rotating lifting device used to transfer materials or personnel to or from marine vessels, barges and structures A competent person in this CU shall be able to identify offshore pedestal-mounted crane pre-operation requirements, perform offshore pedestal-mounted crane routine checks, perform lifting operation and shutdown offshore pedestal-mounted crane operation The outcome of this competency is to ensure that an operator handle safely a crane and load material in accordance with job requirement, company standard operating procedure and equipment operation manual. |
