| Penerangan CU | Defect system grading is a process to classify the quality of timber using defect system. Classifying the quality of timber is known as grading. Timber is graded in accordance with the MTIB’s Malaysia Grading Rules (MGR). This process is performed by performing preliminary grading, performing defect system grading, controlling timber quality and confirming the graded timber (defect system). The personnel who are to be competent in this competency must in prior have the following competency unit:- i. Wood Identification (ID) Process The personnel who are to become an authorised Timber Grader shall obtain timber grading licences from Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB). |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify grades and defects of timber by defect system grading. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- · Perform preliminary grading works. · Identify timber grading requirements. · Perform defect system grading. · Perform timber quality control. · Confirm graded timber (defect system). · Report cutting system grading activities. |
