| Penerangan CU | Traffic flow monitoring describes the competency in maintaining safe, comfortable and smooth traffic flow rate over a specified highway stretch. The job includes removing all type of traffic obstacles, disallow prohibited vehicles trespassing and conduct congested area traffic control exercise. This competency unit is important to ensure that the highway could stay as a highway of choice by fulfilling the need and expectation of all users. A competent person in this competency unit shall be able to perform traffic obstacles reporting, perform prohibited vehicles control, perform immediate highway obstacles removal, perform delayed highway obstacles removal, perform rest area traffic control, perform toll plaza traffic control and perform main line traffic control. The outcome of this competency unit is to ensure highway users are safe, comfortable and receive the best customer experience which could not be compared with other highway within the same market area in accordance with organizational requirement. In performing highway traffic flow monitoring, the patrolman must possess a valid car driving licence and motorcycle licence due to the nature of this activity that utilizes vehicle in completing the task. |
