Penerangan CU | OSV Stability Management is a fundamental component of seaworthiness to ensure that the vessel possesses a satisfactory level of stability in order to ensure its safety as well as that of the people on board. The person who is competent in managing vessel stability shall be able to ensure that the vessel is maintained in a seaworthy condition with respect to watertight integrity, stability and stress being correct for all stages of a voyage or operation to be undertaken. This includes planning for the required events and planning the vessel's weight distribution, delegating the operation, confirming that the outcomes of the plans are as expected and that problems or changes have to be recognised and taken into account The outcome of this competency unit is to manage risk associated with ballasting, stability and water tight integrity during planning and execution of offshore vessel operations to maintain vessel condition within safe limits at all times |
