| Penerangan CU | Textile Pre-treatment describes the competencies required to perform pre-treatment processes prior to the dyeing process. Pre-treatment refers to the processes performed prior to actual dyeing to remove impurities, achieve the desired degree of whiteness, enhance the fabric quality or improve its absorbency. Pre-treatment processes include scouring, bleaching, desizing, mercerising and enzyme pre- treatment processes. The quality of the pre-treated substrate will affect the dyeing result. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to perform fabric scouring, bleaching, desizing, mercerising and enzyme pre-treatment processes. The outcome of this competency is quality pre-treatment of fabric to ensure its readiness for the dyeing and finishing processes so that the finished output achieves clients’ desired quality. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to perform pre-treatment processes on various types of fabric prior to the dyeing process. Quality pre-treatment of fabric will ensure its readiness for the dyeing and finishing processes so that the finished output achieves clients’ desired quality. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- 1. Perform fabric desizing 2. Perform fabric bleaching 3. Perform fabric scouring 4. Perform fabric mercerising 5. Perform enzyme pre-treatment (bio polishing) |
