| Penerangan CU | The CU title describes the competency in Towing and Salvage Operation. Few tugboats have ever been truly fully dedicated to salvage work; most of the time, salvage tugs operate towing ships, barges, platforms, or other utility tugboat work. Accidents such as major oil tanker groundings or sinking’s may require extensive salvage efforts to try and minimize the environmental damage. He or She must be able to conduct towing and salvage operation of vessels in Port. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to analyse operation order, administer crew preparation, monitor equipment preparation, proceed toward directed location, perform towing and salvage operation The outcome of this competency is to develop the Tug Master in towing and salvage of vessels in accordance with port/employer expectation, best practices and requirement. |
