| Penerangan CU | High temperature service coating testing describes the test methods for evaluating the heat resistant properties of coatings designed to protect steel surfaces exposed to elevated temperatures during their service. It is based on ASTM D2485-91 standard. Thus, the parameters stated are specific to this standard. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify high temperature service coating test requirements, prepare test panel and conduct test for interior coating as well as exterior coating. The outcome of this CU is to provide an accelerated means of determining the performance of coating systems that are developed for use in high temperature exposure. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to perform high temperature service coating tests in accordance with standard blasting and coating practices and legislative requirements. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Identify high temperature Service Coating Test Requirements • Prepare test panel • Conduct test for interior service coating (Test Method A) • Conduct test for exterior service coating (Test Method B) |
