| Penerangan CU | Motorboat outboard engine overhaul work is a scope of competency to restore the engine which normally has capacity up to 350 HP and its systems to meet manufacturer’s specifications and requirements. Proper steps and guidelines need to be followed in order for overhauling process to achieve good performance and maximum engine life. The person who is competent in this work shall be able to allocate boat at overhaul work area, remove outboard engine from motorboat body, dismantle engine external and internal components, decarbonize engine parts, perform metal discontinuity checking, perform engine internal fitting checking, overhaul engine cooling system, overhaul engine fuel and combustion system, overhaul engine lower gear, overhaul engine exhaust system, overhaul engine power trim and tilt, reassemble and reset all components, carry out engine functional test and engine control system resetting, perform reinstallation of engine to boat, perform good housekeeping practice and compile overhaul work report. The outcome of this competency is to provide good outboard engine overhaul work according to manufacturer’s specifications, guidelines and to comply with SOP, Safety Procedure, ISO and IMO standards if necessary. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to perform motorboat outboard engine overhaul work including all systems based on manufacturer’s engine manual and according to standard operating procedure and good housekeeping practice. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to: Allocate boat at overhaul work area Remove outboard engine from motorboat body Dismantle engine external and internal components Decarbonize engine parts Perform metal discontinuity checking Perform engine internal fittings checking Overhaul engine cooling system Overhaul engine fuel and pump system Overhaul lower unit Overhaul engine exhaust system Overhaul engine power trim and tilt (PTT) Re-assemble and reset all components Carry out engine functional test and engine control system resetting Perform reinstallation of engine to boat Perform good housekeeping practice Compile overhaul work report |
