| Penerangan CU | Hot-dipped galvanising (HDG) inspection is the quality control process of ensuring that the galvanised coating applied complies with international coating standards and client requirements. HDG is the process of dipping fabricated steel into molten zinc to form a tightly-bonded alloy coating that provides superior corrosion protection to te steel. This CU covers the roles of the coating inspector in determining the readiness for commencement of hot-dipped galvanised operation and in verifying the compliance of the coating application and quality with the specified standards. The person who is competent in this CU will be able to identify hog-dipped galvanising works inspection requirements, verify HSE compliance, determine status for commencement of hot-dipped galvanising work activities, monitor hot-dipped galvanising activities and conduct DFT inspection. The outcome of this competency is to determine the readiness for hot-dipped galvanising operation and to ensure compliance with international blasting & coating standards and client requirements |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to perform hot-dipped galvanising works in accordance with blasting & coating standards and client requirements. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Identify hot-dipped galvanising job requirements • Prepare hot-dipped galvanising work area • Prepare hot-dipped galvanising tools and equipment • Carry out preliminary check on items to be galvanised • Pre pare hot-dipped galvanising materials • Pe rform surface preparation • Perform hot-dipped galvanising activities • Check dry film thickness (DFT) of galvanising coating • Perform housekeeping activities |
