Penerangan CU | Line coating operation refers to the process of corrosion control for pipelines. External coating and internal lining are performed using fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE) and polypropylene/ polyethylene to produce high performance corrosion protection. This CU covers the sequence of activities in the line coating process in accordance with international blasting & coating standard (NACE, SSPC, ASTM, ISO). The parameter values such as temperature range specified in this CU may vary for different working environment. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify painting job requirements, prepare painting work area, prepare painting tools, equipment, carry out preliminary check on items to be painted, prepare painting materials, check climatic condition, perform painting activity, control wet film thickness, shut down equipment and carry out housekeeping activities. The outcome of this CU is the development of painting operation competencies required by an industrial painter. |

Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to perform lining coating operation in accordance with blasting & coating standards and client requirements. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- 1. Identify lining coating job requirements 2. Prepare lining coating work area 3. Prepare lining coating tools and equipment 4. Carry out preliminary check on items to be coated 5. Prepare lining coating materials 6. Check climatic condition 7. Perform external surface preparation 8. Perform external coating 9. Perform internal surface preparation 10. Perform internal coating 11. Measure dry film thickness (DFT) of lining coating 12. Perform field-joint external coating after welding 13. Perform housekeeping activities |
