| Penerangan CU | The heat, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC) feeds conditioned air to equipment rooms, accommodations to name a few. In tropic and sub-tropic areas, the compressor refrigeration units are used to cool the air since some of the equipment is sensitive to heat. Also, in tropical areas gas turbine inlet air must be cooled to achieve sufficient efficiency and performance. The HVAC system may include cooling medium, refrigeration and freezing system, heat medium system and Hot Oil System. The purpose of ventilation to provide a good air flow or circulation to avoid foul and stagnant air in the system to provide air to equipment rooms that are safe by positive pressure. This prevents potential influx of explosive gases in case of a leak. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify HVAC equipment maintenance requirements, perform HVAC equipment electrical system visual and physical inspection, perform HVAC equipment electrical system routine service, troubleshoot HVAC equipment electrical system problems, perform HVAC equipment functionality test and prepare HVAC equipment maintenance report. The outcome of this competency is to repair, service and upkeep HVAC equipment according to company standard operating procedure to ensure efficiency and minimum downtime of equipment to optimize production.
