| Penerangan CU | The purpose of a gas dehydration unit is to remove water from natural gas and natural gas liquids. Natural gas which is produced from a reservoir, usually contains a large amount of water and is typically completely saturated or at the water dew point. Without dehydration, this water molecule in free water phase, could also drop out of the natural gas as it is either cooled or the pressure is lowered through equipment and piping. This free water phase often contain some portions of acid gas (such as H2S and CO2) and can cause corrosion to the piping wall and several problems for downstream processes and equipment. At low temperatures the water can either freeze in piping or more commonly depending on the chemical composition, the formation can plug equipment and piping. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify Gas Dehydration equipment maintenance requirements, perform Gas Dehydration equipment electrical system visual and physical inspection, perform Gas Dehydration equipment electrical system routine service, perform Gas Dehydration equipment electrical system routine service Gas Dehydration equipment functionality test and prepare Gas Dehydration equipment maintenance report. The outcome of this competency is to repair, service and upkeep Gas Dehydration equipment according to company standard operating procedure to ensure efficiency and minimum downtime of equipment to optimize production.
