| Penerangan CU | Rubber And Palm Oil Effluent pond disludging operations describe the competency required to remove excess sludge in the pond. Sludge needs to be removed from the first or anaerobic pond if sludge build-up has reduced their storage beyond the required capacity or if problems occur with effluent conveyance from the pond either via a gravity pipe or pumping application. Sludge can be removed by disludging service providers. Another approach is to dry out the pond and mechanically dig out the remaining solids. Care needs to be taken when emptying ponds, stockpiling sludge and applying it to land as high level of nutrients in sludge makes it a potentially strong pollutant. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to check previous disludging record, inspect physical condition of the dumping site and disludging pond, carry out disludging process improvement and Prepare effluent pond disludging operations report. The outcome of this competency is to improve the efficiency of the ponding system by the removal of excess solids in the pond |
