| Penerangan CU | Treated Water Post Dosing Operation describes the competency required to disinfected and condition water before it enters the distribution system. He/She has to ensure that any disease-causing bacteria, viruses, and parasites present in the water is destroyed. Chlorine is used as a disinfectant due to its effectiveness and its residual concentrations are maintained in the water distribution system to safeguard consumer further .against possible biological contamination. Additional chemicals are added to balance the pH and contents of treated water in accordance with the National Drinking Water Quality Standard (NDWQS) guidelines. Disinfection may also be achieved through ozone or UV treatments The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to determine post-dosing information, prepare post-dosing instrument and chemicals, conduct filtered water sampling, carry out filtered water output, carry out fluoridation dosing system, carry out chlorination dosing system, carry out pH correction, conduct corrective action against violation and produce post dosing operation records. The outcome of this competency is to ensure post dosing activities are done according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in accordance with the National Drinking Water Quality Standard (NDWQS). |
