| Penerangan CU | A boiler is water containing vessel which transfers heat from a fuel source into steam which is piped to a point where it can be used to run production equipment or to the turbine of thermal power plant. The person who is competent in boiler operation shall be able to identify boiler operation requirement, prepare boiler operation PPE, material tools and equipment, carry out boiler pre starting and starting, monitor boiler operation, carry out emergency and normal boiler shutdown, coordinate boiler annual inspection, carry out boiler external and internal water treatment, and carry out boiler operation handover. The outcome of this competency is to ensure the boiler is operating in smoothly and safely according to manufacturer specification and regulatory body requirement (DOSH). The personnel who will be competent in this competency must in prior have the following certification by DOSH:- •Fireman certificate •Boiler man certificate |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to operate boiler and monitor daily operation of boiler system. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Identify boiler operation requirement • Prepare boiler operation PPE, material tools and equipment • Carry out boiler pre starting • Carry out boiler starting • Monitor boiler operation • Carry out emergency boiler shutdown • Carry out boiler shutdown • Coordinate boiler annual inspection • Carry out boiler external water treatment • Carry out boiler internal water treatment • Carry out boiler operation handover |
